Анотація

У статті окреслено життєвий шлях Трохима Шангірея — козака Чорнухинської сотні Лубенського полку, конюшого Києво-Софійського кафедрального монастиря, який після постригу став ченцем Києво-Золотоверхого Михайлівського монастиря під ім’ям Товія. Проаналізована справа 1749–1751 рр. про повернення 30 руб. боргу Товії Шангірею від диякона Михайла Павловського, в якій на певному етапі інтереси позивача представляв Григорій Сковорода. Наведені аргументи на користь близького родства Трохима (Товії) Шангірея та Григорія Сковороди. Висловлено гіпотезу щодо участі Шангірея у фінансовій підтримці Григорія Сковороди часів його навчання в Києво-Могилянській академії.
